What if we designed work for aliveness?

Aliveness Inc. creates embodied experiences and leadership programs that help humans and teams reconnect to themselves, each other, and the work they're here to do.

We spend roughly a third of our lives at work.

And we've gotten extraordinarily good at designing work around one set of things.

  • Productivity.
  • Efficiency.
  • Output.
  • Optimization.

What are we optimizing the human for?

Aliveness Inc. explores what changes when organizations begin designing not only for what humans can produce—but for how humans actually experience being alive.

  • Energy.
  • Connection.
  • Agency.
  • Purpose.
  • Creativity.
  • Presence.
  • Belonging.
  • Vitality.
Because the quality of our organizations cannot be separated from the quality of the human experience inside them.

What do we mean by aliveness?

Aliveness is difficult to reduce to a single metric. It's something we recognize when we feel it.

We become curious. Present. Connected. Expressive. Energized. Creative. We feel agency over our lives and connection to something larger than the next task on our list.

Aliveness Inc. explores the conditions that allow those qualities to emerge—in humans, leaders, teams, and organizations.

Twelve qualities we keep noticing when people describe feeling alive at work. Hover to sit with one.

Leadership isn't just cognitive.

We bring the body back into the room.

Most professional development focuses heavily on cognition.

  • Strategy.
  • Frameworks.
  • Information.
  • Models.

But humans don't experience work exclusively through cognition.

  • Stress has a physical experience.
  • Trust has a physical experience.
  • Conflict has a physical experience.
  • Confidence has a physical experience.
  • Leadership has a physical experience.

Aliveness Inc. uses embodied practices to help participants develop greater awareness of their internal experience and expand their capacity to choose how they respond.

  • Self-awareness
  • Emotional regulation
  • Communication
  • Boundaries
  • Presence
  • Agency
  • Resilience
  • Relational awareness
  • Leadership under pressure

Experiences designed for humans—not just employees.

Embodied Experience Design

Don't just plan the agenda. Design how people feel.

We partner with organizations to design embodied experiences for:

  • Team offsites
  • Leadership retreats
  • Company gatherings
  • Conferences
  • Workshops
  • Culture events
  • Strategy sessions

Instead of treating embodiment as a standalone wellness break, we shape energy, connection, presence, and participation throughout the gathering—through movement, facilitated reflection, relational exercises, grounding practices, play, sensory experiences, and other participatory formats.

Aliveness Workshops

Custom standalone workshops for organizations that want to introduce embodied leadership and aliveness without committing to a longer program.

  • Embodied Leadership
  • Reconnecting to Agency
  • Presence Under Pressure
  • Embodied Communication
  • Building Human Connection
  • Burnout & the Body
  • From Performance to Presence
  • Creating Conditions for Aliveness

Sessions can be designed for leadership teams, individual teams, or larger organizational gatherings.

Bring in a Workshop
  • Week 1 — Awareness

Learning to notice internal signals, patterns, and automatic responses.

  • Week 2 — Regulation

Building greater capacity to remain present under pressure.

  • Week 3 — Agency

Moving from automatic reaction toward conscious choice.

  • Week 4 — Expression

Exploring honest communication, boundaries, and self-expression.

  • Week 5 — Connection

Developing relational awareness, listening, trust, and connection.

  • Week 6 — Aliveness

Integrating the work and exploring what allows individuals and teams to feel most alive.

No two teams are alive in exactly the same way.

  • 01

    Listen

We start by understanding the humans, culture, challenges, and aspirations inside your organization.

  • 02

    Design

We create an experience around the actual needs of your people rather than delivering an off-the-shelf program.

  • 03

    Experience

Participants learn through experience—not simply information.

  • 04

    Integrate

We create space for reflection and translate insights back into everyday leadership and work.

  • 05

    Learn

Where appropriate, pre- and post-program surveys help us understand what shifted and continuously improve the work.

You bring your body to every meeting.

  • Every difficult conversation.
  • Every deadline.
  • Every presentation.
  • Every decision.
  • Every moment of conflict.
  • Every moment of creativity.
  • Every moment of leadership.

So why does professional development so often pretend it isn't there?

Aliveness Inc. brings embodied awareness into leadership and organizational development—not as an alternative to strategy or cognitive skill, but as another layer of human intelligence.

Mia Eisenhandler, founder of Aliveness Inc., laughing in a sunlit studio

Mia Eisenhandler — Founder, Aliveness Inc.

I became my own first case study in aliveness.

For nearly a decade, Mia built a successful career in enterprise technology consulting and entrepreneurship. She advised organizations, led teams, built a business, developed a substantial professional audience, and became exceptionally good at doing what ambitious professionals are taught to do: Perform. Produce. Achieve.

And somewhere along the way, she realized she felt profoundly disconnected from herself.

That realization led to years of exploration into embodiment, somatic practice, leadership, human behavior, and what actually allows people to feel alive.

Eventually, the question became bigger than her own life: what happens when we bring this work into the place where adults spend so much of their waking lives—work?

Aliveness Inc. is an exploration of that question. Mia brings together nearly a decade of experience inside corporate environments, consulting, entrepreneurship, facilitation, and years of somatic movement and embodiment practice.

Her work sits between two worlds that rarely talk to each other: the world of organizations and the world of the body. Aliveness Inc. exists to build a bridge between them.

We're studying aliveness.

Aliveness Inc. is both a practice and an ongoing inquiry into what helps humans come alive.

Become a Founding Aliveness Partner.

We're currently partnering with a small number of forward-thinking teams to pilot the first Aliveness Inc. organizational programs.

Founding partners receive a deeply customized experience and play an active role in shaping the future of the work.

We're especially interested in working with teams navigating:

  • Burnout or change
  • Disconnection
  • Leadership development
  • Communication challenges
  • Culture evolution
  • A desire to create a more human way of working

In exchange, we ask for candid participation, feedback, and—where the experience genuinely earns it—the opportunity to document what we learn together.

What could become possible if your people felt more alive?

Let's find out.
